What is SIL?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) services offer assistance and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and actively participate in their communities. SIL services are tailored to each person’s unique needs, providing personalised care and support with daily activities, household tasks, and personal care. Trained support workers offer guidance and encouragement to enhance participants’ life skills, social interactions, and decision-making abilities. SIL services aim to foster choice, control and confidence, while also ensuring safety and well-being. This support model empowers individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives and achieve their goals while living in their own homes or community-based settings.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia. SIL under NDIS aims to promote inclusion, autonomy, and improved quality of life.
Our SIL Houses
Our inclusive houses are located in Regional and Metropolitan Melbourne. These homes are developed to boast comfort and character along with close proximity to public transport, shops and other services.
Our team also can establish new homes for participants based on their needs. We understand that vacancies that may be available with other providers may not be what the participants and their support network are looking for. So we’re happy to set up new SIL’s in the location and with the specific requirements of a participant.
